I love cycling and the ocean, and it has been this way since I was a kid. These days, it is still one of my true pleasures to cycle to the beach at the end of a work day and just relax a bit by the beach.
I own a bicycle shop and I live close to the ocean, so I have been cycling with my friends to the best places to see and its hidden spots, in Gaia side, countless times. I have started a few months ago my bike tours, and it makes me really happy to see guests enjoying them as much as I do.
Let me show you my favorite side of Portugal's coast.

We'll start this bike tour in Gaia Devesas train station, it's 10 minutes from Porto. From there I will pick you up, ready to start cycling to one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, where we can admire the astonishing "Senhor da Pedra" Chapel.
Cycling along the coast, through a charming fishing village, and we can make as many stops as you like, either to enjoy the view or even to go for a swim in the ocean. After, we will drop the bike and stop in one of my favorite spots for a small picnic on the beach, where we can rest a bit and enjoy some traditional portuguese snacks.
Since I don't want to be a spoiler, I'll save most of the details but we'll finish the bike tour at Silvalde's beach where the fishermen's dock their boats directly on the beach with their fresh fish. You will have a real feeling of being embraced by the local fishermen's community. We can even spend some time with the fishermens, and listen for their stories.
During most of the year, the fishermen only go once a day to the ocean and return in the early morning. But...during Summer, if the ocean is calm, they make up to three fishing trips per day, so we might be lucky and watch them bringing their fish and selling it directly on the beach!
In the end of the bike tour, if you are up for some fresh fish I will reccommend you my favorite local spots nearby. If you prefer to go directly to Espinho's main train station, we'll cycle there, as it is super close from Silvalde's beach. The train takes you back to Porto in about 30 minutes.
Looking for a true taste of the fishermen's local atmosphere? Look no further! Como cycling with me!
We had a fantastic bike tour with Nelson. He took us to some great places, and some we could never have found ourselves, and was friendly and fun and super knowledgeable about all places.
